Why does Nexenta want to wipe my hard drive?

This must have been asked a million times, but it'll have to be asked
again until it's fixed.

Why does Nexenta want to wipe my hard drive? Before booting from the
live CD, I used GParted on Ubuntu to make a nice big partition for
Nexenta to install to. There are already swap partitions available.

Nexenta then warns me that it will use the whole drive, which I
obviously don't want to do. There is no indication of any other way of
proceeding. It's like you don't want people to use Nexenta.
