Hi All-

Appologizies if this has been previously discussed, but I couldn't find
an archive for this list to search.

My question is:
I have a machine with 6 750gb HDs, and i'd like to install nexenta onto
a large Raid-Z array. During setup, it seems like it's only possible to
install onto a zfs mirror. Is there a way that I can migrate the install
onto a raidz array instead?

Thanks!

RAIDZ for system pool is not recommended configuration.

I would suggest to add cheap 2x80G disks to your system do ZFS mirror
using them and keep 6x750G for RAIDZ2 for your data pool.

I was afraid someone was going to say that. Bummer.
Thanks for the response! :)

It's worse than not recommended, you can't boot off of a raidz
filesystem. At the moment, the best you can do for a root pool is a mirror.
