I am trying to install and run xfce. Steps so far

Su
Enter password
Apt-get update //runs fine
Apt-get upgrade //runs fine
Apt-get install xfce4 //runs fine
Startx //usr/bin/startx: line 139: xauth: command not
found
//usr/bin/startx: line 149: xauth: command not
found
//usr/bin/startx: line 151: xauth: command not
found
//usr/bin/startx: line 149: xauth: command not
found
//x: cannot stat /etc/x11/x (No such file or
directory), aborting.
//xinit: Server error.
//usr/bin/startx: line 166: xauth: command not
found
//usr/bin/startx: line 171: kbd_mode: command
not found

Not sure where I am going wrong here, any help is much appreciated.

Try doing it with the command "su -" rather than just su
